An animal trainer gives drama lessons to a massive bear, and a daredevil appears to jump out of an airplane without a parachute on, on ORDINARY/EXTRAORDINARY, Friday, Sept. 5, (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. John Schneider and Leanza Cornett host the reality-based series that presents inspiring and astounding stories about

ordinary people who have achieved extraordinary accomplishments.

In this episode:

• Bart, a full-grown Kodiak bear, takes acting lessons as he prepares himself for a movie career. The bare-chested, unshaven he-man type, Bart can be edgy and nervous around his drama

coach, Doug Seus. That can be a problem, since Bart is 9 feet tall and weighs 1,400 pounds. They are seen together in Utah, where Bart studied for his award-winning title role in the film, "The Bear," and other films.

• Daredevil Greg Gasson leaps from an airplane thousands of feet above the earth, only he’s not wearing a parachute. At

least, that’s the way it appears in this incredible stunt, performed over the Arizona desert, that is actually completely safe but provides unforgettable thrills.

• Ultrasound tests discovered a large tumor on Ryne Shannon’s head while he was still in his mother’s womb. The tumor actually became bigger than Ryne’s head, as doctors

struggled valiantly to drain it before he was born. Extraordinary surgery right after his birth was necessary to keep Ryne alive. Now the Las Vegas tot is 18 months old and on his way to being a happy, health boy.

• Denny Dent, of Denver, blends art, dance and music as the world’s only known "rock ‘n roll painter." He demonstrates

his amazing portrait technique for the studio audience as he completes a six-foot canvas in the time it takes to play a few carefully selected pieces of music.

• Dale Stuart, of Los Angeles, loves to dance, especially while falling to earth at 120 miles-per-hour. The freestyle skydiver, a six-time world champion, uses her training in

aerospace engineering from M.I.T. to choreograph her performance.

• A 185-foot boat tries to haul a large humpback whale back into the sea in Santa Barbara, Calif., after the 45-ton mammal beached itself and rescue workers spent two desperate days trying unsuccessfully to move it.
