The premiere episode, taped in front of a studio audience, includes the following astonishing features:

Cornett goes beneath the surface of the ocean to actually swim alongside huge sharks. After three days of intensive training in the Bahamas, she dons a 27-pound protective mesh suit to swim with and even hand-feed the 12-foot-long fish.

Kyle Romano of Tampa, Fla., is an unforgettable young man with unbelievable courage, determination and joy. A victim of bacterial meningitis, he had his arms and legs amputated to save his life when he was only 15 months old. Now age 10, Kyle remains undaunted and extremely active. He participates in a variety of sports – including baseball, soccer and swimming – and does virtually any activity any

child his age would do. And by his side is Sandy, an extraordinary golden retriever; Kyle’s companion, helper and best friend.

Acrobats from the Far East Circus in mainland China comprise one of the most extraordinary and sought-after performance troupes in the world. Members defy physics, gravity and even logic with

mind-boggling feats such as chair stacking, glass balancing and aerial maneuvers.

A group of scientists in a town near Gainesville, Fla. has developed methods to trigger lightning and has built several targets for the experiments. The incredible research project explores the deadly electrical power carried by these bolts of energy, and the structures have been built so scientists can

decide which buildings will be hit and then measure the resulting destruction.

Whale sharks are the largest sharks in the world at up to 50 feet in length, but they look even bigger in this fantastic segment showing them swimming with human beings!

Also in the series is a segment entitled "News of the Extraordinary" that includes

stories on Aipu Tuta’i, a kindergarten teacher from the Cook Islands who possesses the extraordinary ability to husk coconuts with her teeth; a New Zealand black cat that wears a helmet when it goes for high-speed rides on the front of its owner’s motorcycle – with no support; and villagers in a small town in Thailand who celebrate each New Year with a contest to determine the best "dancer" with a deadly king cobra.
